Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Direct Hire / Permanent)

Location: White Plains, NY

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent (Full-Time, 36 hrs/week)

Pay Rate: $58.41 – $75.81 / hour (DOE)

Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:15 AM | Alternating weekends & holidays)

Position Overview

Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Westchester County is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a full-time, direct-hire night shift position. The unit provides comprehensive high-risk and low-risk intrapartum care, antepartum triage, Cesarean section circulation/recovery, and immediate newborn stabilization within a collaborative birthing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage high-risk and routine laboring patients through active labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum transition.
Perform electronic fetal monitoring, maternal assessments, and titrate labor interventions/medications.
Circulate and assist in obstetric surgical suites for scheduled and emergent Cesarean sections.
Provide neonatal resuscitation and stabilization at delivery alongside interdisciplinary teams.
Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and supervise ancillary care personnel as needed.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of dedicated Labor & Delivery acute bedside nursing experience
Minimum 1+ year of baseline acute care hospital experience
Active, unrestricted New York State (NYS) RN License in hand upon hire
Education: BSN or MSN required
Required Certifications upon hire: AHA BLS and NRP (ACLS required upon hire or obtained within 180 days)

Role & Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent (1 Open Position); 36 hours/week guaranteed on Nights (7:00 PM – 7:15 AM). Alternating weekends and rotating holiday coverage required. Pay Scale: $58.41 to $75.81/hour, strictly based on verified acute L&D years of experience. Strict Clinical Experience Gate: Facility requires at least 5 years of dedicated L&D experience plus a minimum of 1 year of general acute care (excluding nurse residency/orientation). Education & Licensing (Hard Filters): BSN or MSN is mandatory (ADN profiles will be rejected). Active NYS RN License required in hand upon hire. Certifications: Active AHA BLS and NRP required (experienced hires must have or complete AHA ACLS within 180 days of start). Submission Protocol: Adhere strictly to the required direct-hire submission packet checklist for the health system panel before uploading to the MSP portal.
