Job Details

  • Unit: Emergency Department
  • Shift: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Contract: 13 weeks
  • Unit Size: 64 beds
    • 2 Triage
    • 40 Acute
    • 6 Super Track
    • 2 Trauma
    • 10 CDU
    • 6 Psych
  • Floating: Required
  • Charge Capability: Highly Preferred
  • Scrubs: Navy Blue
  • Block Scheduling: Never promised or guaranteed
  • Local Candidates: Accepted; local rate applies to candidates living less than 75 miles away

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Emergency Department experience
  • Some Pediatric ED experience
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
  • TNCC must be in hand at submission
  • Active NY RN license
  • Nursys license verification report showing active NY license and all RN licenses
  • Valid driver's license with address matching demographics
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Skills checklist matching specialty
  • RTO must be included at submission
  • Current resume documenting travel experience

Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency nursing care to assigned patients across all age groups.
  • Care for newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Provide care for patients with:
    • Stroke
    • Sepsis
    • Trauma
    • Myocardial infarction (MI)
    • Cardiac arrest
    • Respiratory failure
  • ED nurses are expected to care for all assigned patients, including SANE patients.
  • Utilize specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
  • Provide care across triage, acute care, super track, trauma, clinical decision unit (CDU), and psychiatric areas as assigned.
  • Floating is required.

Submission Requirements

  • Updated resume with 2+ years ED experience and some PEDS experience
  • Travel experience documented
  • Specialty-matched skills checklist
  • Driver's license with matching demographic address
  • Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
  • TNCC must be in hand
  • Nursys report verifying active NY license and all RN licenses
  • RTO included at submission
  • EPIC experience documented
