MICU RN

Overview

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU in a Level III Trauma Center
• Adult ICU assignment with Med Surg floating required
• 36-hour schedule with nights and every other weekend
• Floating is mostly to Medical/Surgical units, with ratios up to 1:4 or 1:5 when floated
• Rotating day shifts may be assigned when working days

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Telemetry competency
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of continuous work experience in one location, preferably a MICU

Unit Details

• Unit name: Level III Trauma Center
• Patient population includes adults with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
• Bed count: 20 beds

Schedule

• Shift: 19:00 - 07:30
• Nights and every other weekend
• Day positions may rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed
