Emergency Department with 101 beds
Patient ratios typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
Staffing includes techs in cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks (days and nights)
Equipment used: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
Documentation system: Cerner
Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; must meet department needs
Floating: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
Patient experience focus: AIDET communication, respectful behavior, ongoing patient updates

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications required before start date:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)

Known for strong teamwork and welcoming staff personalities
Serves a highly multicultural community with over 120 languages spoken locally
Unit emphasizes patient safety and quality care, supported by advanced certifications and technology
Dress code: Navy scrubs required

Prior experience in a high-volume Emergency Department (>100,000 visits annually) is preferred
Previous experience with the hospital system is a plus but not mandatory
Attendance policy and unit-specific guidelines provided on day one of assignment
