Location

• Chandler, Arizona

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS and ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification accepted from AHA or APEX
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the past 6 months
• Strong cardiac telemetry background
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Must be able to titrate and decrease cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer, with up to 2 attempts
• Must pass a pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation

Clinical Setting

• ED holds patients waiting for inpatient placement
• Primary patient population is medical-surgical/telemetry
• No monitor tech on the unit
• No vents on the unit

Responsibilities

• Care for patients from the ED who are waiting for a hospital bed
• May assist with ED tasks such as vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration
• Will not be primary RN for ED patient assignments

Schedule and Staffing

• 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• 2 of 4 major holidays
• Self-scheduling may be available, but can change
• No call required
• First to float

Floating

• May float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and EDs as needed

Orientation

• 2 shifts of orientation to med/surg/tele at the primary campus

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs
