Job Opportunity: PACU Registered Nurse
Location: Napa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Day shifts, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5 days a week)
- Shift times may vary based on surgical schedule and unit needs (start times around 9:00, 10:00, or 1:30 PM)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for California
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Health and Safety Documents
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (9/1–3/30)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety questionnaire) required annually for travel candidates
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually (onsite testing available if needed)
Background and Verification Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification required for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- State-specific background checks as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)
- References and work history verification as needed to meet credentialing standards
Additional Requirements
- Passport-style photo with neutral background for badge issuance
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp) prior to start and annually thereafter
- Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities within reasonable distance
- Competency exams and skills checklists as applicable, updated annually
- Some units may require color blindness testing or additional competency exams
