Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in Madison, Wisconsin
- 13-week assignment
- Rotating 3x12 schedule, primarily days
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Telemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- Telemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Telemetry experience
- DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience
Schedule
- 3x12 shifts
- Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Occasional nights as needed
Unit Details
- Neuro telemetry / stroke-neuro-trauma step-down unit
- Typical patient ratio is 1:4, with occasional higher assignments depending on resources
- Common diagnoses include stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, general med/surg, and IMC/step-down level of care
- Special procedures include lumbar drains, NIHSS, and stroke education
Additional Notes
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Fit testing is required onsite
- Travelers must shave for mask seal fit testing
- CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided and may not be used by travelers at the facility
- Failure to shave for fit testing will result in cancellation
