Mammography Technologist (Contract)

Location: Edwards, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Perform breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and assist with breast ultrasound biopsy. Follow MQSA and ACR guidelines to ensure quality and safety in breast imaging. Provide patient education and coordinate continuity of care related to breast health.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform breast imaging exams and biopsies using mammography, stereotactic, and ultrasound equipment.
• Ensure compliance with MQSA and ACR standards for quality control and radiation safety.
• Review patient requisitions for accuracy and consistency with clinical diagnosis.
• Communicate clearly with patients before, during, and after procedures to guide them through their care.
• Present completed imaging exams to radiologists and relay pertinent information to care providers.
• Schedule and coordinate breast imaging appointments to maintain workflow and patient care continuity.
• Manage departmental workflow and medical supply inventory efficiently.
• Participate in breast health education and promotional events.
• Assist in orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to organizational values and Just Culture principles.
• Maintain 24 CEU credits every two years per A.R.R.T. guidelines and current CPR certification.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in Colorado
• Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with Mammography (M) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Exposure to radiation, toxic chemicals, biological hazards, heat, noise, dust, and stress.
• Physical activity includes sitting (20%), standing (40%), walking (20%), squatting (5%), bending (5%), and twisting (5%).
• Work involves caring for adult and geriatric populations (ages 18+).
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines, independently or as part of a team.

• Must be punctual and reliable to start shifts on time.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and communicate effectively is essential.
• This position involves direct patient care.
