Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) for a day shift position with an on-call rotation covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays. The role involves working in an Interventional Radiology setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center.


Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to care for patients.
  • Perform patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations of care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, and state laws.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation according to established standards.
  • Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy.
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to their level of understanding.
  • Participate in department/unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support patient care continuity.
  • Manage complex patient safety situations and delegate tasks appropriately, escalating issues as needed.
  • Engage in professional development and support continuous learning opportunities, including evidence-based practice guideline development.
  • Participate in peer review and feedback processes.
  • For clinic and ambulatory settings, maintain patient flow and perform telephone triage as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year.
  • Minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience.
  • Current certifications in:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

  • Shift: Day shift with on-call rotation (weeknights, weekends, holidays).
  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
