Unit Details

• 9 LDR beds
• 8 PP/GYN beds
• 2 OR suites
• 23 wellborn nursery beds
• EMR: Centricity Perinatal & Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• OB experience
• ACLS
• AWHONN
• BLS
• NRP

Preferred Qualifications

• Cesarean section circulator, 1st assist, scrub

Clinical Focus

• Labor & Delivery
• Cesarean sections
• Post-partum and newborn care
• OBED triage
• Inductions
• Midwives

Staffing and Schedule

• Day shift staff include Director, Manager, Couplet nurses, Birth response nurse, L&D nurses, and Scrub Tech
• Night shift staff include Clinical coordinator or charge nurse, Birth response, couplet, L&D nurses, and Scrub Tech
• Patient ratios: 3 couplets per nurse; L&D is 1:1 for active labor, Pitocin, and epidural
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No call requirement for travel staff
• Extra shifts may be available

Floating

• Float only within the unit
