Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Nights

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a 45-bed unit with 2 operating rooms.
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2.
• Patient population includes high-risk obstetrics, antepartum, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries.
• Common drips used: magnesium, insulin, pitocin.
• Approximately 150 deliveries per month at this facility.
• Must float across multiple campuses within the local area.
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
• Orientation: 16 hours.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
• Scrubs provided by the hospital.
• Overtime and holiday pay multipliers apply.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year recent Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with high-risk patients and Level 2 trauma patients
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system
• Certifications required:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS
  • NRP
