Operating Room RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Charleston, South Carolina
  • Ambulatory OR setting
  • 13-week contract
  • Day shift: 4x10s, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • No weekends
  • No on-call
  • Possibility of floating within perioperative services
  • May be required to precept a care team member in the operating room
  • First-time travelers are not accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
  • OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Radiation badge required; must be provided by the agency

Preferred Experience

  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedics
  • ENT
  • Gynecology
  • Genitourinary
  • Endocrine
  • Surgical oncology

Work Expectations

  • One late week every 4 weeks to complete cases
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
  • Traveler may be called off one shift per 2-week period

  • 2 clinical references
  • Resume/application with all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
  • Skills checklist for the applicable unit
  • Annual background check and required state/federal exclusion checks
  • Education verification
  • Physical exam
  • Fit test within 90 days of start
  • Tdap within 10 years or declination
  • TB screening within 90 days of start
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Flu documentation or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination if not vaccinated
  • South Carolina state exclusion list clearance
  • Orientation modules must be completed before start
