Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Pediatric Operating Room (OR) position with day shift hours: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Requires experience in kidney transplant, pediatric OR, ambulatory OR, and pediatric trauma
On-call requirements:
- 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks
- 1 weeknight per week (Monday-Thursday)
- Holidays as operationally needed

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Experience working with pediatric patients in an outpatient setting
Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience
Kidney transplant and transplant experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Background Requirements

Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender check, and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state mandate
Education verification as applicable to specialty
Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols
Physical exam and immunization documentation (including Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB testing, Flu vaccine or approved exemption) required
Wisconsin BID form and caregiver screening mandatory for all candidates
Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

Testing and Competency Exams

Pediatric Telemetry Test (WorkRamp LMS) required for all pediatric inpatient units (NICU, PICU, Pediatric unit)
Adult Telemetry Test required if applicable
Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication with strict deadlines and remediation process

Additional Notes

References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required (Aya standard)

Facility-specific forms for communicable diseases, vaccine exemptions, and declinations must be completed as applicable
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
