Job info

Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process and current nursing practices.
Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Prepare the OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, medications, and other needs.
Verify patient identity using two identifiers (name and birthdate).
Safely transport and position patients for surgical procedures, following safety protocols including timeouts before incision and before exiting the OR.
Support the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, medications, and dressings.
Transport patients to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or designated unit and provide thorough handoff to receiving nurse.

Valid RN license in Illinois
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
