Overview
- Travel position in Salt Lake City, Utah
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Night shift schedule: straight nights or 50/50
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Utah
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of ICU experience (or 1 year of strong ICU experience)
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- Cardiac nurse experience
- ACLS
Unit Details
- ICU with 24 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 1:2
- Higher-acuity assignments may include 1:1 coverage for sitters, IABP, CRRT, and open hearts
- Staffing includes 46 staff members
- Unit secretary and tech support available during day shift when census is above 10 patients
Clinical Experience
- Rapid sequence intubations
- Central line placements
- Ventilator management
- Vasopressor management
- Restraint use
- Arterial line management
- Bronchoscopy
- Intubation
- Chest tube placement
Scheduling and Floating
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
- May float to PCU or serve as a sitter anywhere in the inpatient hospital
