Employment Type: Travel Contract

Unit Information

  • Department: Respiratory Services
  • Location: Main Respiratory Therapy Department
  • Number of Beds: 854
  • Number of Staff: 120
  • Shift Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
    • Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
  • Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients per therapist
  • Equipment Used:
    • GE R860 Adult ventilators
    • Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
    • Newport HT70 transport ventilator
    • V60 Non-invasive device
    • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
  • Floating Areas: All Critical Care units and floors
  • Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
  • Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in North Carolina
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
