Labor & Delivery RN

Overview

• Travel assignment in Salem, Virginia
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS
• AWHONN
• BLS
• NRP
• Strip interpretation
• JADA knowledge
• BAKRI knowledge
• Blood administration
• Nitrous administration
• Experience with vaginal exams
• Knowledge of common OB medications
• Circulator experience in C-sections
• Knowledge of common complications and treatments for obstetrical complaints
• Assist with epidural placement

Clinical Experience / Skills

• Labor and delivery experience
• Strip interpretation
• Knowledge of common OB medications
• Circulator experience in C/S
• PACU recovery experience for spinal anesthesia
• Antepartum triage experience
• Knowledge of common complications and treatments for obstetrical complaints
• Ability to assist with epidural placement
• IV insertion
• Lab draws
• JADA and BAKRI knowledge
• Blood administration
• Nitrous administration
• Experience with vaginal exams
• Setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries

Unit Details

• Labor and delivery unit with 17 inpatient beds and 2 triage beds
• Patient ratio: 1:1-2
• Secretary available on day shift only
• No techs
• Floating to mother-baby/postpartum
• Willing to block schedule
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Ready for huddle at 6:45
