10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week

Overview

Provides nursing care for hospitalized patients with a range of health problems, from simple to complex.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Oncology experience within the last year
Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate from the Oncology Nursing Society
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of oncology experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program

Key Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
Obtains and monitors patient physiological data and intervenes when necessary
Administers medication as prescribed
Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
Communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families
Makes referrals for patient care needs
Delegates tasks to support staff
