Job Details

• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, rotating schedule
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• On-Call: Not required
• Floating: Yes, floating within scope to meet unit needs
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Based on acuity, ranges from 1:1 to 1:2 or 2:1
• Charting System: Epic
• Total Staffed Beds: 17
• Scrub Color: Navy

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – CVICU
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Licensure

• Required Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• License: Colorado or Compact RN License

Special Unit Information

• The 24-bed CT ICU is a regional center for advanced circulatory and respiratory support for critically ill adults.
• Specializes in open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic aneurysm repair, vascular and thoracic surgeries.
• Multidisciplinary team focused on holistic health, education, and improving patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with adult patients

Additional Notes

• Time off restrictions apply: No time off allowed during specific periods in March, May, and June/July 2026.
• Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions.
