Overview
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Role Summary
Provide specialized nursing care for neonates in a Level III NICU, including patients from 22 weeks gestation and above. The role includes managing respiratory distress, glucose management, and care for neonates needing surgical or cardiac interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Key Clinical Skills
- Respiratory management, including ventilator settings and adjustments
- Arterial line management and central line care
- IV therapy and umbilical artery/vein catheter management
- Gastrointestinal feeding methods, including oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
- Infection control measures
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
Additional Notes
- Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be given special consideration.
- The unit uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication administration.
