Stepdown/MedSurg RN

Location

• Fairmont, West Virginia

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• Stepdown experience
• Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license
• Licensing hits must be disclosed at submission

Unit Details

• Stepdown/Med Surg unit
• 20 beds
• Ratios: Stepdown 1:3; floor 1:5–6
• Common patient types include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Common drips include heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Nurse aides are present, with 2 per shift
• Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow support
• Telemetry is monitored
• Charge coverage is by a house supervisor

Scheduling

• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holidays rotate between evening or day shifts
• No call or standby
• No floating

Orientation

• Unit-specific orientation is provided

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
