Unit: 6 West Neurosciences
Beds: 36
Staff: 40 total
Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC
Night Shift Staffing: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
Patient Ratios:
- Day Shift: 5:1 (standard), 6:1 (stretch)
- Night Shift: 7:1 (stretch)
Equipment: Standard Medical-Surgical Equipment
EMR System: Cerner

Required Certifications & Licenses

Registered Nurse (RN) License (North Carolina)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Stroke Scale Certification
BLS (Basic Life Support)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty

Work Environment & Culture

Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Floating: May be assigned to other medical-surgical floors
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend off

New staff receive a reference book at the start of the contract

Additional Notes

This is a telemetry unit (Tele = Telemetry) focused on neurosciences.
Candidates without ACLS and NIH certification will not be considered.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience
Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
