Job Overview

• Location: Rochester, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
• Weekly hours: 36
• Schedule: Will rotate between acute and LTC care; every other weekend
• Call: Nights if possible, 1 every other week
• Local policy: No local candidates within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in a Critical Care setting
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Skills / Procedures

• ABG sampling
• Ventilator management
• Patient assessment
• Pulmonary hygiene
• Airway management including intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy suctioning, and related suctioning/airway placement
• Nebulizer therapy
• Oxygen therapy including HFNC
• Ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation

• Servo-U ventilator
• NKV330 NIV device
• Airvo2
• Dream machines
• V30s

Patient Population / Diagnoses

• CHF
• COPD
• Pneumonia
• Respiratory failure
• Respiratory infections

• Scrubs: Any shade of gray or gray/black combination
