Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Pomona, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Weekend Requirement: None
• On-Call: 5 weekday nights and 1 full weekend every 6 weeks
• Floating: May float between two campuses approximately 12 miles apart
• Orientation: 2 days
• Daily Case Load: 7-15 cases

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology, Hybrid OR, Scrub, and Special Procedures
• Experience with equipment, inventory & supply management, and PACS
• Procedural workflow skills including room circulator duties, maintaining sterile field, prepping access sites, equipment setup, and accurate monitoring
• Vascular access skills: venous access, managing ports, central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), and care/maintenance of central venous lines
• Experience with abdominal, visceral, genitourinary, and vascular interventional procedures (e.g., angiography, embolization, stent placement, dialysis graft interventions, TIPS)

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
• Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• ARRT (R) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Scheduling and Policies

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Travelers may be required to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment
• Hospital provides scrub color

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam (medical clearance) within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire updated annually
• Required vaccinations or positive titers for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical and religious exemptions require facility approval
• 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start and updated annually (not required for lab or sterile processing techs)

Documentation and Verification

• Government-issued photo ID required
• E-Verify or attestation confirming work eligibility in the US
• Background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year search and international search if applicable
• Education verification required; official transcripts if diplomas cannot verify education
• Work history documenting 2 years of recent, relevant experience
• 2 current references from supervisors or educators within the past 2 years
• Skills checklist appropriate to assigned unit completed within last 12 months
• Performance evaluation completed by agency within last 12 months
• Primary source verification of NJ license within 30 days of start
• Signed HIPAA statement and orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Pass/fail in-house skills assessment during orientation (contract may be cancelled if failed)

• The Interventional Radiology program supports inpatient and outpatient populations with advanced image-guided vascular and nonvascular procedures
• This is a travel assignment open to first-time travelers and local candidates within 50 miles (local rates apply)
