Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Knoxville, Tennessee
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required as needed

Patient Population

  • Infants through 21 years old
  • Common cases include DKA, respiratory failure, respiratory distress, pneumonia, status asthmaticus, trauma, sepsis, ingestion, seizures, altered mental status, post-arrest, and post-surgical patients

Unit Details

  • 14-bed unit with 11 private rooms and 3 semi-private beds in one large area
  • Bedside procedures may include central line or arterial line placement, chest tube placement, bronchoscopy, and EVD/bolt placement

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
