MICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Location: Rochester, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Contract length: 15 weeks
• Patient ratio: 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Assignment Details

• Locals are not accepted; candidates must live more than 75 miles away
• First-time travelers are accepted

Clinical Setting

• Medical ICU
• 16-bed unit
• Common patient conditions include sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella
