Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• 1 year of Emergency Department experience
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• CPI
• TNCC or ENPC
• Trauma experience

Preferred Experience

• Trauma experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center
• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume emergency department

• Strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills
• Ability to recognize changes in condition
• Critical thinking
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Unit Overview

• Emergency department with 48 headwalls and approximately 25 additional treatment spaces
• Acuity-based patient ratios
• Common care includes moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO, splinting, EKG, blood transfusion, TNK administration, cardiac monitoring, stroke assessment, trauma assessment, resuscitation, and sepsis workups

Work Environment

• Team-based unit with day and night shift roles including charge nurse, flow navigator, RN, paramedic, ED tech, and unit clerk
• Navy scrubs required
• No food or drink in patient care areas
• No personal bags in patient care areas
• Shift starts 15 minutes before shift time
• Lunch requires clocking out/in for 30-34 minutes
