RN Tele

Overview

• Travel RN position in Asheville, North Carolina
• Unit: K8 General Surgery
• 44-bed unit on the 8th floor of K-tower
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Urology experience

Unit Details

• Staffing includes day and night shift charge nurse, RNs, CNAs, and a unit secretary
• Patient ratios are 1:6 on day shift and 1:7 on night shift
• Equipment includes telemetry, PCA, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters
• EMR: Cerner

Common Procedures / Patient Care

• TPN
• PCA
• Wound vacs
• Tube feeds, PEG tubes, dobhoffs
• NG tubes
• Colostomies and urostomies
• Drains including biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, and CBI
• Heparin drips and IV antibiotics
• Cholecystectomies, appendectomies, podiatry, bowel resections, plastics, urology surgeries and nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, oral/maxillary, thyroidectomies, and hernia repairs

Floating

• Other med-surg areas

Schedule

• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Dress Code

• Navy blue pants
• Navy blue or white scrub top and jacket if needed
• White undershirt if needed
• No sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, coats, or jackets
