ICU Resource Team - RN

Overview

• Location: Fargo, North Dakota
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day/Night Rotate
• Hours: 36 per week
• Shift length: 8 and 12 hour shifts, with occasional 4 hour shifts
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Call: No call required
• Unit size: 32 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2

Required Qualifications

• RN license: ND or compact state RN License
• BLS certification, AHA
• ACLS certification, AHA
• NIHSS
• 2 years of ICU RN experience
• 2 years of experience in a large hospital over 250 beds
• Level 1 trauma experience in a 250+ bed facility
• Experience titrating vasopressor drips
• Ability to care for critically ill patients independently

Assignment Details

• The clinician will call in each day before the shift to find out which critical care unit/location they will work in
• May float to med surg units as needed
• Floating may include all critical care departments in Fargo, including 5AB, Intermediate ICU, and Broadway ICU
• Employee will not work alone
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Orientation

• 32 hours total orientation in the first week
• Includes hospital orientation, orientation to this unit, Intermediate ICU orientation, and Broadway ICU orientation

Clinical Scope

• Manage 1 to 3 critically ill patients
• Care for critically ill neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients
• Manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips
• Assist with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests

Other Notes

• Travelers living within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Local travel rate applies to those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility
• If the clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health, that must be noted in the submission, and the prior end date must be at least 6 months before submission
• Straight nights will be taken
• Holiday RTO is not approved
