Job Overview

Weekly weekend requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in Charge roles
Nephrology experience

Clinical Setting

Surgical inpatient unit
24 beds
Adult patients ages 18 to 100+
Patient ratio: 1:6 max
Level III trauma center

Key Experience / Skills

Post-operative patient care
Ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries
NG tubes
Chest tubes
Foley catheter / TURPs
Respiratory issues
Diabetic patient care
Sepsis
Alcohol withdrawal
Rib fractures
Altered mental status

Float Expectations

May float to Medical / Nephrology / Inpatient Rehab
May also float to Cardiology for lower-acuity patients, Med/Surg, or Pediatrics to care for adult patients only
