Travel RN position in the Emergency Department
13-week assignment
36 guaranteed hours per week
Every other weekend
No call requirements

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
PALS
NIHSS
CPI
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

Meditech experience

Unit Details

26-bed Emergency Department
Patient ratio: 1:4-5, depending on acuity
Treats all patient populations
Common cases include respiratory distress, overdose, CHF, dialysis, and hypertension

Work Environment

Team-oriented, engaged, positive attitude preferred
Any scrub color allowed

Pros

Doctors and most of staff are nice. Surgeries are not hard.

Cons

No staff so a lot of call. You will be on call within your first week or two, even if you don't know how to do anything. Unorganized. The director and supervisor don't know anything about the OR nor are they helpful. New staff are not properly trained. Everything falls on the OR nurse to do. They preop in house patients getting surgery. A couple of OR staff are bullies and lazy, they all think they are the boss. They tell the charge nurse what they are going to do and not going to do. Its like high school all over. Had to leave out of fear for my license.
