Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Rochester, New York
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x12, 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates must live more than 75 miles away

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation Precautions
• Experience with Epic

Unit Details

• 26-bed MedSurg/Tele unit
• Patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
• Cares for patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions

Clinical Skills / Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy, including peripheral line care/management
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions
