Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Springfield, Illinois
  • Day shift: 5x8 hours, 6:15 AM–2:45 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted
  • On-call required: 1–2 nights per week and every 5th weekend
  • RTO preference: ideally no more than 5 days

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CVOR (3 years of experience)
  • CVOR experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience with:
    • Atrial Septal defect (adult) repair
    • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
    • ECMO
    • Femoral Cannulation
    • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
    • Left Ventricular Assist device
    • MAZE Procedure
    • Mitral valve replacement
    • PDA
    • Pericardial window

Required Clinical Experience

  • Cardiovascular surgery experience with:
    • Aortic aneurysm repair
    • Adult atrial septal defect repair
    • Coronary artery bypass graft
    • ECMO
    • Femoral cannulation
    • Intra-aortic balloon pump
    • Left ventricular assist device
    • MAZE procedure
    • Mitral valve replacement
    • PDA
    • Pericardial window
    • TAVR
    • Scrub cardiovascular surgery
  • Vascular surgery experience with:
    • Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
    • Arteriovenous fistula repair
    • Atherectomy
    • Carotid endarterectomy
    • Endovascular aneurysm repair
    • Femoral popliteal bypass graft
    • Scrub vascular surgery
    • Vein stripping
  • Thoracic surgery experience with:
    • Laparoscopic assisted cases
    • Lobe resection
    • Mediastinoscopy
    • Thoracotomy
    • VATS
    • Scrub thoracic surgery
  • Endoscopic procedure experience with:
    • Bronchoscopy
    • EGD
    • Laparoscopic assisted cases
    • PEG tube placement/exchange
    • Scrub endoscopic surgery

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Laser safety
  • Specimen handling and labeling
  • Universal Protocol / time-out procedure
