Job Description

• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Required to assist with percutaneous tracheostomy and bronchoscopy procedures
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Weekend requirement: 2-3 weekends per 6 weeks
• On-call required
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted
• Pending state license accepted
• Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days
• Guaranteed minimum hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience assisting with percutaneous tracheostomy procedures
• Experience assisting with bronchoscopy procedures

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest related degree (no pending at start)
• Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug screening within 1 year of start, including specific drug panels (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccine or declination (required every 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1)
• Fit mask testing (N95 respirator) annually; must be able to shave facial hair if needed for proper fit
• HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policy acknowledgements
• Regulatory compliance education and orientation modules (completed annually via online platform)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually)
