Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days/week, 40 hours/week)

• Teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• 317 staffed beds
• Charting system: Epic (Excellian)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
• Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year (7-year statewide MN search required)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year
• MN DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance mandatory before start (no pending fingerprints allowed unless approved “more time needed” letter)
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire) required before start
• Drug testing (9-panel) within 1 year, not required for client clearance but must be set up
• Photo for badge: Passport-style headshot required within 48 hours of contract signing

Immunizations & Health Requirements

• Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required after age 11; exemptions accepted with restrictions (no direct patient care in certain pediatric/maternal units)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (TB results must be on file no later than 3 days after start)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no exemptions for patient-facing roles
• Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, proof of series, or signed declination required
• Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines required; no exemptions accepted
• Seasonal Flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-2026 season (declinations accepted, exemptions not accepted)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific preorientation online modules within 72 hours of receiving access (3-9 hours depending on specialty)
• Annual skills checklist required
• Uniform review prior to start (Navy blue scrubs)

Additional Notes

• Guaranteed hours subject to client cancellation policy (up to 3 shifts may be canceled without penalty)
• Parking available with validation for first day; subsequent parking fees apply depending on shift and location
• Candidates must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after contract signing to initiate fingerprinting process
• Candidates may need to travel to complete fingerprinting if no local livescan location is available
