MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mobile MRI Tech)
- Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
- Holidays: Work required if they fall on scheduled shift
- Overtime: Available
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
- Daily caseload: Varies
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Siemens MRI experience required
- Certifications/Licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
- MR certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT
- Radiation badge: Not required for MRI Techs
- State License: South Carolina license not required for MRI Techs
- Background checks: Comprehensive, including 7 years of residence/work history, criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusions
- Drug screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start
- Fit mask test: N95 fit test within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Physical exam: Initial and annual updates required
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series required; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if positive history
- Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31), medical/religious exemptions accepted (no declinations)
- Color blindness test: Required prior to start
- Competency exams: Required as applicable
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Employment history: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
Additional Requirements
- Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Upload COVID vaccination records preferred; if not vaccinated, must complete vaccination declination form
- Radius rule: Must be within 60 miles of facility
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
