Medical Surgical Nurse

Location

Battle Creek, Michigan

Assignment Details

Travel/contract position
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
36 hours per week
Up to 26 weeks
Holiday coverage required
Every other weekend required
First to float
Floating to other Med Surg units required
Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Unit Overview

Observation unit with 10 beds
ER overflow setting
Patient ratios: 1:6 at night, 1:5 during the day
Rapid admit/discharge workflow with constant reassessment for discharge readiness
Med Surg units may flex to 8 patients with RN paired with LPN for support

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred

Travel experience is highly preferred
Candidates with no travel experience may be considered if they have more permanent experience

Work Environment

Must be willing to work with a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and techs
