Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Portland, Oregon
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift, 3x12 schedule
- Weekend coverage required
- First-time travelers accepted with PICU experience
- Locals accepted
- Pending Oregon license accepted if the application has been submitted and received by the licensing board
- Floating required within the hospital to NICU and pediatric units
- Block scheduling not accommodated unless otherwise stated
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CVICU experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred
- NRP
Schedule
- Tuesdays start date
- 36 hours per week
Clinical Setting
- CVPICU
- Must have experience with CVICU and post-op hearts
- Bedside procedures may include central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, and chest exploration
Additional Notes
- All time-off requests must be disclosed at submission
- Call is not required
- Scrubs are provided for OR use
- Government-issued photo ID is required on the first day
- A valid TB questionnaire is required
- Fit testing is required before start
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months are required
- A skills checklist is required within 1 year of start
