Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Med Surg experience
Telemetry experience
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS

Unit Details

40-bed unit
Typical patient ratio: 1:5 in Step-Down, 1:6 in MedSurg, or 1:5 when combined
Expected to float to other units within skill set
Every other weekend required
No call
Holiday coverage as needed

Clinical Environment

Fast-paced, quick-turnover unit focused on ED decompression and throughput
Receives admitted patients from the ED for admission assessment, medication reconciliation, and initiation of acute care orders
Wide variety of diagnoses
Minimal bedside procedures

Preferred Experience

Charge nurse experience or willingness to consider it

Additional Notes

Navy blue and/or white scrubs required
Cerner is used for documentation
