Registered Nurse - Hospice

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide inpatient hospice nursing care in a home care setting within Buncombe County.
  • Patient ratio approximately 1:15.
  • Utilize Home Care Home Base EMR system.
  • Typical duties include patient assessment, pain management, and family education.
  • Work independently as a hospice case manager.

Work Environment

  • Mobile/home care hospice nurse role.
  • Day shift team includes 1 team manager, 1 CNC, 3 RN case managers, and 2-3 PCTs.
  • Scrubs are the required attire.
  • Potential for backup on-call, but not frequent.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • BLS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hospice nursing.
  • Hospice experience is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with hospice certification documentation.
  • Active driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Home health experience.

Additional Information

  • Candidates without hospice experience will not be considered.
  • Best fit is a self-sufficient hospice case manager.
  • 36 hours per week.
