Job Details

• On-call plus rotation required: work one Saturday shift and rotate weekly
• Neuro experience is a plus
• Must be willing to float between like units, including possible float to a nearby acute care hospital
• Scrub color: any color accepted
• Charting system: Epic
• Free parking available

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS certification required (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)

Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – verify if required by unit
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – verify if required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – verify if required
• Chemotherapy certification – verify if required
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – verify if required
• IV Certification – verify if required
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – verify if required
• NIH Stroke Certification – verify if required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – verify if required

Note: Certification requirements depend on unit and clinical track; verify accordingly.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (as applicable)
• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification required for all candidates
• State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only)
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with declination option
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with declination option
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with masking requirements

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
• Skills checklist required for applicable units, updated annually
• Float policy acknowledgment required due to possible floating between facilities
• Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required for badge issuance
• Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
• Epic training modules required; transcripts must be submitted and verified prior to start

• Candidates must be prepared for on-call plus rotation and floating between units/facilities
• Neuro experience is beneficial but not mandatory
• Pending licenses are not accepted; active license required at submission
