Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (08:00 AM - 06:30 PM), 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Operating Room with a focus on heavy Orthopedics, Urology, Spine procedures, and Robotic surgeries.
• Participate in call rotation: 1 weeknight and 2 weekend days per month, with possible additional call depending on department needs.
• May float to other facilities as needed.
• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and responsible persons.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict professionally.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Participate in continuing education.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ability to float to other facilities as needed

Additional Information

• Weekend and call requirements are mandatory.
• Experience with orthopedic, urology, spine, and robotic surgical procedures preferred.
• Prior travel experience is not specified or required.
