Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift with on-call rotation (weeknights, weekends, and holidays)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with cardiovascular intervention experience. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide critical care, performing patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, and developing individualized patient care plans. The RN will also participate in performance improvement activities, support patient and family education, and engage in professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process and critical thinking in patient care
• Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to standards and policies
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Provide patient and family education
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments
• Manage complex patient safety situations and delegate appropriately
• Engage in continuous learning and support evidence-based practice guidelines
• Participate in peer review and feedback opportunities
