Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• CPFT or Advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in Bronchoscopy Lab
• Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program
• Respiratory Therapist experience

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care including airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and related treatments
• Perform bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, arterial punctures, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations, and extubations
• May perform pulmonary function testing as needed
• May transport pediatric and neonatal patients under Air Care protocol
• May perform advanced practice procedures under Air Care protocol
• May manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support when working with ECMO
• Set up, monitor, and wean ventilator support as needed
• Work independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other staff
