Unit Overview

Cardiovascular progressive care unit with a cardiac surgery stepdown patient population
Common patient types include cardiovascular and vascular surgery, open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy, and overflow medical cardiology cases

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Telemetry experience
ACLS
BLS

Preferred Experience

Prior cardiovascular and vascular surgery population experience within the past year
CVICU experience

Schedule

No call
Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
Holiday flexibility required

Floating

May float to stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding areas
