RN - Med Surg

Overview

• Travel assignment in Portsmouth, New Hampshire
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• 3 x 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and rotating holidays
• Self-scheduling available, with schedule balancing at leadership discretion

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Hampshire
• Med Surg experience: 2 years
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• IV certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in an inpatient setting

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical unit
• 36 beds
• Typical patient ratio: 1:6, with occasional 1:7 during surge
• Float to same level of care

Clinical Focus

• Telemetry monitoring
• EKGs as needed
• CBI
• Wound care
• Drain management, including chest tubes and Jackson-Pratt drains
• Foley insertion
• Central line dressing changes

Work Environment

• Unit secretary on day shift only
• LNA support on both shifts
• Scrubs in any color are required
