Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Contract RN role in Mauston, Wisconsin.
• Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, 1900-0730, with weekend rotation.
• 13-week contract.

Role Summary

Provides nursing care for maternal and newborn patients and cross-trains to care for Med Surg/EICU patients when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Manages induction of labor and cervical ripening.
• Deals competently with medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, management of meconium, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa.
• Performs and accurately interprets fetal heart monitoring.
• Performs neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification.
• Assesses condition of newborn and recognizes situations of heightened surveillance or situations that require a higher level of care.
• Recognizes and manages neonatal sepsis.
• Monitors newborn for any adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice, and intervenes appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four-year degree in nursing.
