Charge Nurse - Nursing

Location: Brewster, Washington
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift (7:00 am - 7:30 pm), 12-hour shifts, rotating days including some weekends
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

The Charge Nurse is a key leadership role responsible for providing on-site nursing services, supervision, and delegated administrative functions during their shift. This role involves implementing current nursing care standards and interpreting hospital policies to staff, patients, families, and physicians. The Charge Nurse must demonstrate leadership, communication, conflict resolution, time management, delegation, mentorship, education, and role modeling skills. They act as effective change agents to accomplish daily goals.

Essential Duties

• Ensure safety and care of patients and families on the unit.
• Lead and hold nursing staff accountable for providing safe and appropriate care.
• Strengthen team performance through encouragement, empowerment, and teamwork.
• Serve as a professional role model and set an example for others.
• Act as a problem solver and change agent within the unit.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Orthopedics.
• Experience in Charge Nurse roles.
• Skilled Nursing experience.
• Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience.
• Emergency Department (ED) experience.
