- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Description
- Evaluate and treat patients of all ages in an acute care setting.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.
- Perform patient transfers safely with assistance as needed.
- Use safe body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Design and adjust individualized plans of care including goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
- Conduct examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to patient complaints and history.
- Screen patients to determine the need and effectiveness of therapy services.
- Supervise support personnel and provide feedback.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, patient responses, and modifications according to policy.
- Implement functional intervention plans considering patients’ physical and emotional needs.
- Modify approaches based on patient behavior and performance.
- Use standardized outcome measures consistently.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and medical teams throughout rehabilitation.
- Provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) and rehabilitation technicians.
- Communicate patient status, transfer/activity recommendations, discharge disposition, and equipment needs clearly with the medical team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience in an Inpatient setting
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Preferred Experience
- NICU/Pediatric experience required
- Inpatient and acute care experience preferred
Additional Information
- No prior travel experience required
- Position focuses on NICU/Pediatrics acute care
