Occupational Therapist
Job Overview
- Location: Urbana, Illinois
- Setting: Acute care
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Hours: 40 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
- Experience in an inpatient setting
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients of all ages
- Develop and adjust plans of care based on patient response and evidence
- Perform patient examinations and screening to determine therapy needs
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and other healthcare providers
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and patient responses
- Collaborate with the care team and provide discharge and equipment recommendations
- Supervise COTA and rehabilitation technicians as allowed by regulation
Work Environment
- Inpatient opportunities at a Level 1 trauma center
- Includes an inpatient rehab unit with a primarily neuro-focused caseload
- Acute OT caseload is approximately 170 patients
